Surf marathon

I’m in the middle of a surf marathon that started last Monday and ends Tuesday afternoon. The last few days have been fun, but today the fabled swell of old from the Cook Islands arrived and delivered. Here’s a picture taken after our session at Dabbers (Encinitas). These nice waves were rolling through in sets of 3-5 every ten minutes or so.

THE Set Wave

My next favorite picture is of a surfer floating over the vicious whitewash into the sand.

Nice Drop

Ostermann and I had a great time. If you like these photos, be sure to check the Pictures section for more in the next two days. We’ll be visiting a few other breaks in that time, and the surf should be similar in size.
