Two months ago, Hayley and I snapped some night photos in Circular Quay. We cranked up slowed down the shutter speed and closed off the aperture to get the elegant, glowing effect.

The Sydney harbour bridge spanning over the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The Opera House on a bustling Friday evening.

Circular Quay, the Circular Quay train station and the surrounding hotels, shops and office buildings. On the far right is the Overseas Passenger Terminal for large cruise ships.

Note: I once again remodeled my website. The last two posts were lacking in photos, hence this post.

After losing my underwater camera I was desperate to find a camera to take its place. The Olympus 790SW was really cool for underwater photography, but no-good for anything else. Most of my photography is done from the beach anyway, so I decided to look into bigger cameras with higher-quality lenses. After weeks of research and a Craigslist subscription to Canon, Olympus and Nikon cameras, I arrived at the first budget Digital SLR from Canon, the EOS Digital Rebel 300d.
Check out these first pictures! They were taken with the 18-55mm multi-purpose kit lens.

And Timmy the rabbit.

If you’re looking for a budget DSLR, I totally recommend it. $250 paid for a large memory card, case, strap, the DSLR body, kit lens, two batteries and an extended Canon battery grip.
