I made a game called Maziness last winter that I didn’t announce.
Back in elementary school, we would sit for hours drawing mazes on graph paper. This game was a visit to the past with my knowledge of today. It’s very minimalist as well, mostly because I just didn’t care to work on it after the initial revision.
The purpose is to get from start to finish in the smallest amount of time possible. It relies heavily on the JavaScript capabilities of your web browser, so those with Google Chrome or Safari 4 will be able to play the large maze. I used a well known but simple maze algorithm to generate the mazes, which regenerate everytime you refresh the page.
If you’re bored, check it out: http://maziness.com.

I’ve added paging to the tags pages on the Pictures page. Page, page, page.

Flickr opened up their service to the programming world with a publicly accessible API. As usual, I’m way behind the times and I’ve just discovered this feature.
I started using Flickr a few months back for photo hosting and I’ve been addicted ever since. So much in fact, that I haven’t bothered updating my own pictures page. The solution of course was to create a section on my website that connects to Flickr using their API. The first iteration of this page is located at http://mswebby.com/flickr/sets.php.
Unfortunately, Flickr’s API doesn’t include any functions for getting Collections of photos, just Sets. So my site is completely disorganized at the moment.

For years I’ve been checking woot.com daily to see the latest and greatest deal of the day. I’ve purchased a deluxe sound card for only $99, three underwater cameras for $10 each and a 256 MB BFG video card for $59, and all of the above were shipped to me for only $5. The site is really a mixed bag so sometimes you’ll find incredible deals and sometimes it’s just something lame. Let me give you a hint: the new day starts at 10 PM PST.
So after reading today’s woot description, I’ve discovered a new site in the woot network, wine.woot.com. Every day they post a deal on wines. For example, today they have two bottles of Pepper Bridge Vineyard 2001 Cabernet for $65 shipped. One comment in the forums states, “Pepper Bridge Vineyard 2001 Cabernet Sauvignonis $60 per bottle from the vinyards website. A Very nice buy at half price.”
I’d add both woot.com and wine.woot.com to your daily internet email, craigslist and ebay web-surfing routine.
